Welcome to Primrose Cottage

Primrose Cottage offers charming self-catering holiday accommodation in the heart of medieval Sandwich. It is perfectly suited for a quiet break for a couple or a family with older children.

The cottage is two miles from the sea and an easy walk from the mainline rail station.

Despite dating back to the early 1600's its facilities are firmly in the 21st century. They offer comfortable two-bedroom accommodation for up to four people. Garaged parking is included, approximately three minutes walk away.

Sandwich

Sandwich is one of the ancient Cinque Ports which supplied ships and men to the British navy in the Middle Ages. Among its many attractions are narrow streets with half-timbered houses, the river and quay, historic gardens and a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. The public library and Crispin Inn offer free wi-fi. All these amenities are right on Primrose Cottage's doorstep.

Boat trips may be taken from the quay: upstream to Richborough Roman Fort or downstream to spot seals in the bay. Or you can stroll the Old Town Walls Walk to see the former moat and ramparts.

Unspoiled Sandwich Bay is a must. It is a few minutes' drive or, alternatively, a picturesque 40-minute walk across the famous Royal St George's golf course. This was the venue for the British Open 2011 golf tournament. Nature lovers can visit the bird observatory which welcomes guests.

Ideally situated for a relaxing stay on the Kent coast, Sandwich is just a dozen miles from the castle and white cliffs of Dover, historic Canterbury, the North Downs area of outstanding natural beauty and the seaside towns of Deal, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. 

For a longer day out, take a direct train to London or why not hop across the Channel to France or Belgium?
